Title:          As Promised

Scripture Reading:          Revelation 3:20-21

Theme:          The Gospel in Worship

Introduction

"As Promised",    today I will present the "Brief Sermon" I have promised  you for almost four years!   It will be brief but it will be profound.  Not because I present it from my mind but because it is the simple Gospel, which is profound.  I prepared this on my morning walks and I am positive that the Holy Spirit inspired this simple presentation.

Remember last time we spoke about "A Life of Worship."    The real issue is being in love with God . We simply love and adore Him.  We are totally devoted to Him for total time - all day every day not only for a few hours on Sabbaths.   We live a Christ -like life with Christ  and the God family.  God designed us for intimate friendship with the God family.   We noted that,  " Living a life of worship is a choice not an accident."  It is the  "more abundant life"  that Jesus offers us always.  It is worth the time and effort, the training and skills to establish and maintain this passionate worship of our God.  Let us spring off those review thoughts into our brief profound words about,  " The Gospel  in Worship".    All Scripture today is from the KJV however, it is rewarding to read other versions, translations and paraphrases to fine tune the message.

SEVEN POINTS TO PONDER

FIRST POINT

W

Ephesians 2:10   "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."  We   the Christians; the believers in Jesus Christ, are of  His crafting.  He re-birthed us all.   That's Gospel. Pure Gospel and very good news.

We  are His Work

SECOND POINT

O

Revelation 3:20-21  Behold, I stand at the door,  and knock:  if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.   To him that overcometh  will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."  When we accept Christ into our lives He empowers us to become "Overcomers".   That is the simple fact by faith in Him.  So profound.  The Gospel.

We who overcome.

THIRD POINT

R

Hebrews 7:25    The context is Christ our High Priest in the heavenly Sanctuary.    Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."  Until Jesus comes again we will always need sins to be forgiven.  We repeatedly need forgiveness and He repeatedly intercedes for and on behalf of us.

He Repeatedly   intercedes for us.

FOURTH   POINT

S

Jude 24-25  " Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling,  and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,  to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion  and power both now and ever.  Amen."  Without Christ we stumble and fall.   With Christ beside us we are kept from falling. That is success.   That is good news.  That is the Gospel in Worship.

Succeed  and be kept from falling.

FIFTH POINT

H

Matthew 1:21   " And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus:  (Saviour)  for he shall save his people from their sins."  Now that is good news.   That is the Gospel. What profound love,  which generates our passion to love and worship Him always,  all the time.

Save His  People

SIXTH POINT

I

Hebrews 6:17-19   The context again is the High priest hood of Christ our Saviour and His changeless priesthood .  " Wherein God, willing more abundantly t o show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:  That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible got God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, …"  Salvation offered by Christ is unchanging, immutable and infinite as God is.  The Gospel is forever.  That is great news.   It is the best news.  No wonder we find passionate worship in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Immutable, Infinite,  Imperial   unchanging  Gospel in worship.

POINT SEVEN

P

Psalm 147:5   "Great is our Lord,  and of great power:  his understanding is infinite."

What more can we say.   Our Saviour is infinite in power to save.  His understanding of our needs is infinite.Infinite Power and Understanding

So we have the profound love of God and His salvation, the Gospel in Worship.
