Those who follow Religious News from the United States will know that there has been great agitation in the last year or so over the subject of the display of the Ten Commandments in public places.  Christians generally are very angy about the restriction of the display of the commandments in such places as schools, courts and public parks.

I was interested in a comment I heard today on this subject.  It was suggested that the original rejection of the commandments was not from the anti-Christian organisations, but from the churches where the members were told that the ten commandments were "done away with" at the cross.

As Seventh-day Adventists we have always claimed that while salvation is not obtained by obedience - for all have sinned (Romans 3:23), those who have been saved will, by the grace of God, try to keep the commandments.  If we love God then we will obey him, not to be saved but because we are saved.

Thus in this issue of the on-line magazine we have an article on the Sabbath, for this is the one commandment most often ignored, and another on what Love truly is.
