Pastor's Piece - Dreamtime for Christians

by Dr Alex Currie

Reunions

For Father's Day one of my sons gave me the book No Ceiling the autobiography of Heather Swan.   In her mid-thirties Heather married Dr Glenn Singleman, a SAN doctor and a BASE jumping champion.  Heather was terrified of skydiving but conquered that fear to become one of the world's great female athletes who is at the pinnacle of the BASE jumping sport.   She holds the world-record for a female wingsuit pilot.   What an achievement!   On the flyleaf of the book given me she wrote "For Alex, Blue skies and big dreams,"and penned her signature to the comment.   Check http://www.baseclimb.com/ for more information on Heather and Glenn and their accomplishments.

As humans, the skies may not always be blue, but the dreams can always be big! I capture that concept from David who wrote "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;  for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."   Skies may be dark on occasions but keep the dream!

God provides His children a marvellous dream, which is soon to be realised.  The dream is of mansions He is preparing, and of His returning to planet earth to take His followers to heaven.  (John 14:1-3)    With God there is no ceiling!  Soon we will wing our way through space to meet our Redeemer and Saviour and will have the privilege of being in His presence for eternity. (1 Thess. 4:15-17)   So treasure in your imagination this biblical dream, soon to burst into reality for His children.
