Quite a range of material for your perusal.

You will find Leah's "Dear Diary" amusing. It is the author's reaction to the missing holes in a story. Each of us , if presented with the same story goal would tell it differently. The story is a reminder that the scriptural record is the briefest of brief recordings. We can fill in some of the missing parts and flesh out a fuller story but it will be just that - a story. However, as we read and study customs and practices of other cultures both current and of the time of the biblical record, can increase our knowledge of life of the time and give us a greater opportunity to gain lessons for our own benefit.

The Apostle John at the close of the gospel that he authored made the following comment: (John 21:25) "And there are also many other things, which Jesus did, if they should be written every one, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that should be written".

George Porter gives us another of his stories of farm life in the northern rivers district of New South Wales. This story introduces a couple more on the same theme. There is promise of an amusing but thought provoking series.

Angela Vince Saunders had opportunity to visit South East Asia. A different culture, foodstuffs, and nutritional challenges will be of interest. Her reaction to the trip was that there was a two-way benefit from the cultural exchange and a greater understanding of how development and relief NGO's operate.

Finally, food for thought with a brief Bible Study - what the Bible tells us about the Sabbath.

God's blessing on your reading.
