Majesty - Experiencing Authentic Worship, by S. Joseph Kidder

Worship - what does worship mean to you.  Is worship something you do privately, is worship something you do corporately?

When you worship - are you the audience - or are you the actor (a participant)?

In the pages of MAJESTY scriptural principles are given to guide you into a genuine worship experience.  We understand who we are worshiping - but do we understand the how, why and when? What is the significance of worship in the Christian life.

Ten chapters and one hundred and twelve pages take us through the exploration of this subject.

Most Christians do not really understand what worship is.  Worship is not going to church, worship is not singing songs, we can listen to prayers and sermons - but not have worshipped God.  Many of us confuse the means of worship as worship.  Worship is about being caught up in the majesty, wonder and awe of GOD.  Worship is about being so moved by the presence of God, that we kneel in obedience and devotion, then rise with lives filled up with service and excitement for what God has done for us and is doing for us.

God's greatest desire is to be with his people - both one on one and in a corporate setting.  When Christ is present, worship becomes alive - worship (corporate and personal) no longer is what we can get out of the activity - but what we can contribute - how we can truly worship God.

Our worship to God should begin with adoration and exaltation - and this will lead to submission to His will.  Sometimes we may arrive at church, and we are not in a worshipful mood.  How do we counteract our mood.  The answer is to meditate on God's character.  God is great - He is holy - He provides our salvation - His lovingkindness endures forever.

The book studies prayer, the word of God, praise and offering - how do each of these contribute to my ability to adore and exalt my GOD.

Worship is the exercise of the mind and heart in the contemplation of God in which wonder, and awe play an important part in stretching and enlarging our vision of GOD, His greatness, grace and unbelievable love.

The books final page reminds us that Jesus - Jesus the Son of God, Jesus the Creator, Jesus the Saviour, Jesus Lord of Lords and King of Kings - this Jesus loves each of us SO much, that He put his life on the line for you and for me.  Jesus died for us and is now preparing a home for us to live with Him, just because He loves us and does not what to be separated from us.  Our response is WOW, wonder and adoration to such a wonderful GOD.
