You are not lucky, you are blessed

by Rachel Jaboon

What is the difference?

Luck is based on chance, or probability. Blessings are based on love, care and intention.

"Luck" can come to anyone, there is no consideration behind it. A blessing is evidence that you are loved enough to be cared for in a very specific or intentional way.  Luck has no consistency and is not invested in you or the things you deeply desire. But God through his blessings is invested and is the most consistent thing I have come to know.

If luck was all I could rely on I would not have made it this far. I would not have this supportive community around me reaching to places I have never even set foot. It is not by luck that before I go somewhere and do something that things are prepared uniquely for me to feel at peace before I fully understand what's happening. It is not by luck that the things I have dreamed of and prayed for appear at a capacity beyond my own capabilities.

There is no way goodness follows me so persistently just because I'm lucky. There is no way luck would provide precisely what I need when I need it. There is no way except through God.

So even if I was "lucky", it would never reach the depths of the blessings that have gone before me, are beside me and follow behind me.

Luck finds you by chance,
Blessings are the evidence of God's pursuit of you by choice.
That is how I know,
I am beyond lucky,
I AM BLESSED.
